A celebration of the life and legacy of Cal Poly Pomona President Emeritus Dr. Bob Suzuki will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Aratani Japanese Garden at Cal Poly Pomona.
Bob Hiro Suzuki (Jan. 2, 1936-May 1, 2024) became president in 1991 and retired in 2003. He helped to establish the cultural centers on campus, as well as the educational equity programs. He created the Faculty Center for Professional Development to improve academic quality and forged key partnerships with the City of Pomona.
He previously taught aerospace engineering at USC and served as dean of graduate studies and research at Cal State L.A. and vice president for academic affairs at CSU Northridge.
Lunch to immediately follow at the Cal Poly Pomona Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch.
