Jerry Fukui of Fukui Mortuary in Los Angeles hosted the Japanese American Optimist Club’s Not-So-Scary Movie Night on Oct. 21. Club members and friends held a general meeting, enjoyed food and “mocktails,” and viewed Tim Burton’s 1988 horror comedy “Beetlejuice,” starring Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis, in the chapel. There was also a raffle, and some attendees dropped off donations for the JAO Halloween Kids Party held on Oct. 24 for about 110 K-5 students at Los Angeles Elementary School.
