May 29’s Season 4 was another big content drop for Call of Duty, but the update left a sour taste in many players’ mouths. They experienced crashing issues, lag, stuttering, and even had the game uninstall itself, prompting the devs to temporarily remove Warzone Ranked Play again.
Article continues after adThe crashing issues have been mostly fixed, other problems are under investigation, and on the June 17 edition of the COD POD, they acknowledged the issues.
In the community questions section (timestamp 45:14), Senior Director of Communications, Stephanie Snowden, was asked, “What was the deal with all the bugs at the start of Season 4?”
“I will just start this one by saying that we play these games too, and when there are bugs or issues present in the game, we know that that’s frustrating,” she responded. “Since then, we’ve been focused on patching and updating a number of those issues – you can always find the latest information on CoD Updates or on our Trello boards.
Article continues after ad“But since then, we’ve made some pretty big changes with the singular intent to deliver smoother experience across our seasonal updates going forward.”

Although players are excited for new updates, the last two big ones (Season 3 Reloaded and Season 4) have had game-breaking issues, so they now worry about what the next one will do to the game.
However, the “pretty big changes” should help to make sure the next major update will be a lot smoother.
