The Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, 244 S. San Pedro St. in Little Tokyo, presents “Noh: Moon Viewing and Sake” on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
One of Japan’s most celebrated traditional theater art forms, noh is a musical drama that has been performed since the 14th century. JACCC is hosting an evening with master performers and musicians from the 500-year-old Noh School of Kanze. Master Motonori Umewaka will be demonstrating and performing two works from the moon-viewing plays “Hagoromo” and “May Flower.”
The event will be held in JACCC’s James Irvine Japanese Garden. Admission: $30 for members, $35 for non-members.
For more information or reservations, call (213) 628-2725 or visit www.jaccc.org. There is a handling fee for online purchases.
