Envy founder Hastr0 wants to "take care of some unfinished business" in Counter-Strike after re-acquiring his brand from OpTic in January.

Envy Founder Mike "Hastr0" Rufail has expanded on previous comments around a return to Counter-Strike 2 for the organization.

"We're already scouting to bring a CS team back to Envy," the American said on YouTube. "We don't want to go in with a roster that doesn't have a shot. We're looking for the right opportunity to get Envy back to Counter-Strike Majors."

The organization left CS in 2021 despite making a $2 million investment in 2020's Flashpoint project, a decision Hastr0 now thinks was made too soon.

"Our organization feels pretty strongly like we left it too early," Hastr0 continued. "It's time to go back and take care of some unfinished business."

Envy merged with OpTic later in 2021, but a January 2025 deal to bring the brand back under Hastr0's control has opened the door up for a return, with teasers beginning in April.

The organization achieved its greatest success in CS:GO with their French roster in 2015, winning the Cluj-Napoca Major, but was left with the scraps after a 2017 shuffle and eventually transitioned to an unsuccessful North American roster.

Despite deploying myriad lineups, including a short stint for Finn "?karrigan?" Andersen and international imports like Micha? "?MICHU?" Müller and Bu?ra "?Calyx?" Ark?n, Envy missed both 2019 Majors and were out of the HLTV top 20 between April 2018 and their 2021 exit.

Hastr0 added: "In the short time we were in the CS scene, we managed to create some of the most exciting moments in Counter-Strike history.

"We want to get back to that and support some of the best players in the world like we did with the French roster. We just want to make more memories in the game."
