G2 are through to the semi-final of BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals after obliterating BetBoom 2-0 (13-2 Anubis, 13-3 Dust2) in Copenhagen.

Ilya "?m0NESY?" Osipov was unstoppable across the series and tallied a monstrous 1.95 rating, combining with Nikita "?HeavyGod?" Martynenko and Nemanja "?huNter-?" Kova? in numerous late-round scenarios for an authoritative arrival to the server at his first LAN on G2 without Nikola "?NiKo?" Kova? by his side.

"We started kinda slow in our first official against B8," m0NESY admitted in a pre-match interview with James "?BanKs?" Banks when asked about starting the season without the Bosnian rifler. "Not having NiKo on our side [means] we're not having a big voice on CT side because he was usually calling a lot and he was kinda our leader on CT, I would say.

"But we just need to get used to it, and we just try to all step in and help each other on CT and everything will be alright."

huNter- spoke about taking charge of G2's CT side in NiKo's absence in a post-match interview, revealing that he was filling the gap.

"NiKo was doing the main job when he was in the team, but now Snax cannot do it on CT too much because he was an anchor on most of the maps, so I'm trying to help the team because I have a lot of experience," he said. "I want my boys to be really focused on their crosshairs because they are really good when they are focused. I'm trying to help as much as I can."

m0NESY also touched on the absence of NiKo's voice in his pre-match interview, stating that it gave him more room to make plays.

"It kinda makes me feel like I have more freedom," he said. "I mean, it's the same as before, but we don't have the guy who calls more and maybe has some ideas. I don't feel like it affected me in a bad way or a good way, I just feel more freedom."

G2's shaky display in their season debut against B8 painted them as the prime target among the "Most Wanted" quartet at the LAN Finals, and with BetBoom successfully hunting down MOUZ and FURIA online, this could have been the most competitive series of the quarter-finals.

But with BetBoom forced to use Vladislav "?nafany?" Gorshkov and Aleksandr "?KaiR0N-?" Anashkin as stand-ins for their in-game leader Kirill "?Boombl4?" Mikhailov and AWPer Aleksandr "?zorte?" Zagodyrenko, that threat was all but nullified before they even arrived on the server.

m0NESY made sure that BetBoom felt that weakness when the series got underway, racking up seven multi-kills, a 20-7 K-D, 123.3 ADR, and 2.34 rating to decimate the Russian side on Anubis 13-2.

G2 lost the pistol but converted the force with a pair of AK entries from m0NESY, and never looked back from that moment on.

Early abuse of B turned into late walkouts on A at the end of the half, with m0NESY, huNter-, and HeavyGod's late-round excellence combined with Mario "?malbsMd?" Samayoa's 4:0 record in opening duels making up for a handful of man advantages gained by BetBoom.

That dominance carried onto Dust2, another excellent map from m0NESY (1.69 rating) and HeavyGod (1.70 rating) ensuring another one-sided blowout for G2. BetBoom managed a brief streak of three rounds in the middle of the first half but little else, ending their campaign in Copenhagen with a combined five rounds to their name.

"We finally have a really good anchor that you can trust and leave him alone sometimes, even if you don't have a good economy, and trust that he will do a good job," huNter- said in praise of their Israeli rifler after the game.

"Nothing drastically changed for me, maybe two positions overall on Ancient and Inferno, so yeah overall I'm happy with the team," he added about his own performance. "I didn't expect it that good overall, losing NiKo is a very big thing, it's tough. He was very vocal in the team and of course he is one of the best players in the world still and he is the best rifler, so losing him is not easy.

"We all need to really step up and that's what we're doing so far, and I just hope we'll keep going and keep playing like we did today."
